The WAIMM University Students Challenge is an annual industry – based project competition between the various WAIMM student chapters.

The purpose of the event is to enable those pursuing degrees in earth science and engineering; related courses to fully participate in the activities of the institute and also broaden their knowledge on the diverse courses.

The Challenge is a project based competition with guidance at every stage by distinguished industry professionals and the idea is to provide competing students the opportunity to apply what they have been taught in the classroom to various research approaches aimed at solving an emerging industry problem.

Winners would be given a prize which would be presented during the annual WAIMM Students general meeting.

The WAIMM believes in empowering students to tap into the potential for exceptional leadership challenges before completion of their studies at the University.

It is applicable only to student chapters and provides a networking opportunity for students with their various colleagues in other universities.
