Meet Sheila Atunika Asiam, Senior Process Superintendent, Allied Gold Corp.,- Cote D’Ivoire

WAIMM has dedicated the month of March 2022 to celebrate our women industry professionals as our appreciation to strong, committed, professionalism, courageous and resilient women across the sub region and globally. The recognition is to raise awareness of the gender inequality, diversity and inclusion needed in the industry and also celebrate some of the women industry professionals making a change in the sector. The WAIMM is honored and very happy to share in the success of Sheila A. Asiam, a mineral processing engineer serving the mining industry in Ghana and the west African sub region for the past 15years. Sheila is a Metallurgist with fifteen (15) years of work experience in Mineral Processing. Her experience has mainly been in gold processing within West Africa. She has worked on both green field and brownfield projects including plant commissioning, free milling and refractory treatment plants, as well as mine waste water treatment plants. Sheila has been working as an expatriate across Francophone west Africa for the past nine years. She has largely been involved with professional development of national workforce as well as plant improvement initiatives. Sheila graduated from KNUST in 2006, (BSc Materials Engineering), is a certified Lean Six Sigma green belt holder, and currently is the Senior Process Superintendent with Allied Gold Corp in Cote d’ivoire.
