The 2021 / 2022 WAIMM Student Chapter President of the University of Technology and Allied Sciences (formerly UDS Navrongo campus) was adjudged the best male graduating student of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental sciences during the 23rd congregation of the University for Development Studies on on Saturday 29th April 2023, at the multipurpose auditorium of the Tamale campus.
Michael Assane, the immediate past President of the WAIMM UDS Chapter, obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University for Development Studies (UDS), where he graduated with a first-class honours degree and a CGPA of 4.75.
His exceptional academic performance earned him the prestigious Dean’s Award for Best Graduating Male Student in the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Science at the 23rd Congregation, of the University. This is a clear testimony to his intellectual acumen, discipline and hard work.
Michael, served as the President for the WAIMM UDS Chapter in 2022 and had previously served as the Vice President in 2021 and Organizer in 2020.
Through his commitment, dedication and leadership skills, Michael played a pivotal role in advancing the mission of WAIMM, which is to promote excellence in the practice of mining, metallurgy and petroleum on the CKT – UTAS campus in Navrongo – Ghana.
He has a strong desire to make a positive impact in his chosen field and aspires to become a recognized environmental scientist in the related field of mining and petroleum.
The WAIMM wishes Michael all the best of success in all his further endeavors and will continue to support him as he develops his career.
