Congratulations, David Arthur, AGA – Obuasi mine, Ghana

David Arthur is an Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation engineer with over 12 years of experience across mining, oil and gas, food and beverage, and industrial projects. He holds a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, an MSc in Strategic Management and Leadership, and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.

He has led high-value technical projects, maintenance optimisation, and engineering assurance for critical plant infrastructure. His experience in setting engineering standards, managing risk, governing asset performance, and developing technical teams which provide a strong foundation for the Engineering Manager – Technical role, enabling disciplined execution, compliance, and long-term asset reliability.

David Arthur has been working at AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi mine since May 2019 where he worked as the Communication, Instrumentation and Controls engineer to superintendent from 2019 – 2020. He also worked as the Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent – Process Plant from 2020 – 2025.

He was recently promoted to the Engineering Manager – Technical services position following his achievement and vast experience.

David is a Senior Professional Engineer with the Ghana Institution of Engineering, a member of the Education and Training Committee of GhIE. He is also a member of the West African Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (WAIMM).
