The WAIMM groups provide the relevant platform for skill enhancement and knowledge sharing where specific professionals in the core sectors of the mining and petroleum industry meet, network and discuss pertinent and pressing specific issues in their field of practice.
The WAIMM Best Student Award is an annual award scheme organised by the Student Chapters through the Education Committee.
The award which is presented to the student who has shown exemplary leadership and excellent academic performance during the year is aimed at honoring students for their hard-work and conviction.
The award is presented during the Annual Students Conference where award recipients present are given the opportunity to do presentations.

I was selected and awarded the scholarship on the topic ‘ Assessment of Ground water quality. A case study in the la Nkwantanang Madina Municipal’ to aid my project. As a beneficiary, the money awarded has aided with the cost of my project from transportation to the field, lab expenses, and purchasing data( airtime) to facilitate the research work.
I'm thankful for the award I was given by Waimm. It was supposed to be used for my project but unfortunately, I was not done paying my fees so I used it to settle some parts hence I'm very grateful for the help.
