The WAIMM groups provide the relevant platform for skill enhancement and knowledge sharing where specific professionals in the core sectors of the mining and petroleum industry meet, network and discuss pertinent and pressing specific issues in their field of practice.
The External Relations Committee (ERC) of the Council has the responsibility to raise public awareness to promote and support the WAIMM across West Africa and beyond.
The aim of the ERC is to present an effective public image of WAIMM and manage the Institute’s external relations activities to complement membership drive and professional recognition.
The ERC is also responsible for coordinating with other organizations for effective cooperation and affiliation towards knowledge sharing and networking.
The ERC reports to the Council and is chaired by a member of the governing council. It is composed of 35 members from the industry, academia and research consisting of both council and non-council members. At least 5 of the MC members must come from the governing council membership.
Our focus is to provide career and professional development to advance the knowledge and skillset of students, academia , industry professionals, and companies in the resources sector by creating the platform where they can access new and emerging advancement in industry practices.
