About the Conference

The WAIMM annual Geotech Conference provides insight and knowledge into the technical planning, design, operations and monitoring of TSF (Tailing’s dam) which is a very important component of the mining industry. The upcoming event is the 5^th annual Geotech event and this year there will be in-depth training on tailings management systems per the GISTM requirements.

The event would be held on-line from 13 – 14 November 2024 and the 2 – day event will include sessions on the GISTM overview, Tailings Management Systems, Risk Assessment, TSF Project Conception, TSF Design, TSF Construction, Instrumentation Monitoring, and TSF Management Operations.

The purpose of this two-day event is to provide an exclusive, intriguing opportunity to update your knowledge and skillset on the ‘‘Geotechnical Life-Cycle of A Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) – GISTM requirements’’

By attending this practical distinguished Geotechnical conference, participants will be able to understand and equip themselves with the following technique and information:

• Overview of GISTM – background to GISTM development, Key principles of GISTM, Key requirements of GISTM and the steps to ensure compliance with the GISTM guidelines.
